Karen graduated with a first class honours degree in 1998. Following a short spell in the NHS Karen and Lesley set up the practice in 2001. Karen’s main sporting specialism is Golf. She worked with the National squads from 2002, and was Lead Physiotherapist for Scottish Golf from 2005 until 2014. This role involved looking after the National Men and Ladies squads, profiling players and supporting winter training and competitions both home and abroad. In 2011 Karen was appointed Physiotherapist for the Walker Cup whilst at Royal Aberdeen. Karen continues to work with golf and looks after players from amateur to Eurpoean Tour level. Due to family commitments this work is now mainly in Aberdeen but she does continue to travel across the UK supporting players with coaches and S&C coaches.
Out-with Golf, Karen was Physiotherapy Co-ordinator for The Grampian Institute of Sport from 2008-2013, supporting elite level local athletes. In 2011, Karen was one of a 10 strong team to travel to Delhi as part of Team Scotland in the Commonwealth Games. This role involved supporting a number of athletes across a range of different sports. Karen has a particular interest in Athletics and supports local athletes through the Aberdeen Athletics Academy.
Biomechanics and technique related sports are Karen’s keen interest and she is well known in clinic for her comprehensive assessment and rehabilitation approach.
