Bruce graduated in 2010 with an MSc with Distinction in Physiotherapy from The Robert Gordon University, the first student to achieve this level of academic recognition, and joined SPEAR shortly after graduating. Bruce has a strong interest in sports rehabilitation and enjoys the challenge of working with all levels of sports person in a variety of different sports. He provide rehabilitation to elite athletes, and is one of the Physiotherapists who work with SportScotland Institute of Sport. Outside of the sporting environment, Bruce delivers the ergonomic desk assessments for clinic, and has delivered well received talks to companies in this area. He has a passion for Acupuncture and Dry Needling since completing post-graduate training in this area and often complements his treatments with these modalities where appropriate.
Bruce travels to support national teams, predominantly Netball Scotland and Cricket Scotland. He works with the Vitality Netball Superleague team Strathclyde Sirens ,as well as The Scottish Netball Team, The Scottish Thistles. Bruce is also the head physiotherapist for the Scotland u19 cricket team, Scotland u21 Netball team and the Scottish Ladies Cricket team, The Scottish Wildcats. Away from these sports Bruce has travelled to support teams at the World Island Games, and was part of the physiotherpay team at the diving centre for the European Games.
Away from Physiotherapy, Bruce is the director of Aberdeen Sports Massage, our Sports Massage partners here at SPEAR. His passion for hands-on treatment puts him in a great position to integrate the Sports Massage service into our team. Outside clinic Bruce is a keen golfer and enjoys keeping fit.
