Golf Fitness Circuit Classes are held during the Golf off-season (Sept-March), at The Paul Lawrie Golf Centre. The classes are aimed at anyone looking to improve the strength and flexibility of the muscles required to make an effective and efficient golf swing. It is a circuit type class so this means that individuals can work at their own pace, but as the heart rate is raised there is a cardiovascular fitness hit too. All classes involve a warm-up, golf specific strengthening circuit, a core work out and some stretching. What can we promise you golf wise? We can not promise to lower your handicap but we can promise that you will feel physically better on the golf course at the start of the season if you join us over the winter.
The class is taken by David Fanthorpe. David is a Chartered Physiotherapist who has a wealth of Golf Physiotherapy experience and is good golfer himself hovering not far above scratch. Classes are finished for the golf season now but will restart again in September. Watch this space for class times and information towards the end of Summer.
I didn't really know what to expect when starting golf fitness but I've loved the challenge and really seen so much progress in my golf and fitness in 3 short months. I've lost 3 inches around my waist and I'm hitting the ball further- testament to these exercises working. David was great- fun and encouraging looking forward to the classes again next winter!
