Tragic death of Ramsay McMaster
05/01/12
Message from Karen Young,
Partner of Banks O' Dee Physiotherapy&Lead Physiotherapist Scottish Golf:
Ramsay McMaster, the pioneer in Golf Physiotherapy died suddenly on 29th December. I am unsure quite how to describe and pay tribute to someone as inspirational, motivational, enthusiastic and truly giving as Ramsay. Personally, I owe my career to this man. He has helped and inspired me over the past 14 years, and his enthusiasm for golf and physiotherapy was infectious. He was truly passionate about golf fitness and his quest to find the best training methods for golf. He is founder of the spikey ball, posture bar, and numerous assessment tools, warm-ups and exercises, and I think his cowboys and Indians golf warm-up probably best sums him up! He was never scared to explore new ground, and certainly never scared to look silly doing so as we crawled up sand dunes and up golf fairways with clients!!! He would do anything to help anyone. He has been involved with Scottish Golf for more years than I have known him and has willingly consulted on the programme ever since. His ideas and expertise have shaped our programme and he has helped us develop and progress it over the years. His spikey ball exercises, band work and primal moves are used by the men and boys today, and he has left a massive legacy. He unfortunately been taken from us far too soon, as I know he had still lots to give. However, the biggest loss will be felt by his wife and young children that are left behind. My heart goes out to them at this very sad time. Karen
